Protein-packed PB&J Smoothie Bowl

This peanut butter and jelly smoothie bowl is the perfect afternoon treat! Growing up, my siblings and I couldn't wait to get home and make a tasty afternoon snack, giving us energy to head out and play with our friends. The easiest ones were best, because the quicker we were, the quicker we could get back out and play! PB&J is a flavour that brings me straight back to these carefree times... 

Packing these flavours into a smoothie are the perfect combo for an afternoon break. Whip this one up, and take a few moments to yourself to let the flavours swirl around and take you back to the playground.

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 Tbsp peanut butter
  • 2 Tbsp pea protein powder
  • Ice and a 1/2 cup almond milk
  • A touch of sweetener (I like to use honey or stevia)

Blend until desired consistency is reached. For a thicker texture like 'nice cream' sorbet, use less almond milk! Sprinkle with crunchy bits like seeds, buckwheat, and of course, more chia!
